In September 2019, ABB's largest robot production base started construction in Shanghai. After completion, it will form ABB's global robot supply system with the Swedish and American factories. This new production base is called the Robot Super Factory, with a total investment of 150 million US dollars (about 1 billion yuan), covering an area of about 60,000 square meters, equivalent to the size of eight football fields. The project is currently progressing as planned. According to the current progress, it may be put into use as early as the end of December next year. By then, the annual production capacity of ABB's industrial robots in China will reach 100,000 units.
