In March 2020, China Railway Group officially launched the "Shaoyang-Yongzhou Railway Survey and Design Project Bidding", and the China Railway Fourth Institute will undertake the pre-feasibility study, feasibility study and preliminary design work of the project.

Recently, the preliminary geological survey of the Shao-Yong high-speed railway is in full swing. The preliminary test results will provide necessary information for determining the route plan, main technical standards and compiling feasibility study documents. After the completion of the Lou-Shao and Shao-Yong high-speed railways, the construction of the Hunan high-speed railway will further ease the transportation pressure on the Changsha-Hengyang section of the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway.
