The Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin and the Mayor of Beijing Chen Jining signed the cooperation plan between the Moscow City Government and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government (2021-2023). The signing ceremony was held on December 7 at the "Moscow-Beijing -25th Anniversary: New Era and New Opportunities" online forum was held in the form of video conference.

This forum is to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations between the capitals of Russia and China.

Sobyanin said at the ceremony: "I am very happy that our cooperation has not stopped, and will even become more frequent. We continue to actively collaborate in the fields of urban construction, transportation, education and science."

He pointed out that the Russia-China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition will be held in 2021, and the winners will be selected in Beijing and Moscow.

Sobyanin pointed out, "I am very pleased that we have formulated a new cooperation plan with you for the next three years. In 2022, Beijing will host the Winter Olympics, transportation development and the experience we have gained in Moscow during the 2018 Football World Cup is very important".

He added, "If I have the opportunity, I invite you to visit Moscow. We will defeat the new crown virus together, and our cooperation will continue."

Chen Jining pointed out that the new crown epidemic has dealt a serious blow to the economy, and Beijing is willing to share anti-epidemic experience with Moscow and cooperate on COVID-19 vaccination.
