On December 17, 2020, Nantong City Construction and Transportation Bureau issued an announcement that Huashe Design Group won the bid for the railway link project from Yangkou Port Area of Nantong Port to Lusi Port Area, with a bid amount of approximately 5.951 billion yuan.

The total length of the railway link project (Yanglu Railway) from Yangkou Port Area to Lusi Port Area of Nantong Port is about 85km, and the total investment is about 9.9 billion yuan. The project passes through Qidong City, Haimen District, Demonstration Zone, and 4 counties (cities) districts of Rudong County. 7 new stations are established (Dayu Station, Donghu Station, Tongzhou Bay Station, Zhengyu Station, Dongzao Port Station, Lusi Port South) Station, Lvsi Port Station), and renovate 2 connection stations (Beiyu Station and Lvsi Station). Simultaneously build the logistics supporting project of Dongzao Port Station to meet the transportation needs of Zhongtian Iron and Steel Logistics and other projects.

National Railway Class Ⅱ, single line, design speed 120 km/h (reserved 160 km/h), limited slope 6‰, minimum curve radius of 2000 meters in general areas, 1600 meters in difficult areas, internal combustion traction, reserved electrification conditions, traction quality 5000 tons, the effective length of the arrival and departure line is 1,050 meters, and the automatic stations are blocked. The main technical indicators of the connected Beiyu Station and Lusi Station are not lower than the existing standards.

Special line, single line, design speed 80km/h, limit slope 6‰, minimum curve radius of 600m for general areas, 500m for difficult areas, internal combustion traction, traction mass of 5000 tons, effective length of 1050m to departure line, automatic station blockage .

The construction of Yanglu Railway is of great significance for Nantong to build a new sea-port collection system for container transportation on the Yangtze River in Tongzhou Bay, promote river (rail) and sea combined transportation, effectively connect the coastal ports of Nantong, and open up the "last mile" of railway access to the port.
