On December 21, 2020, Xuzhou Metro Group issued an announcement that the China Railway Consortium won the bid for the first phase of Xuzhou Urban Rail Transit Line 6, with a total of 9 bid sections.

The first phase of Xuzhou Urban Rail Transit Line 6 is an anti-L-shaped rail transit line. The starting point of the project is Huangshan Road Station at the intersection of Huangshan Road and Xiangjiang Road, passing through Tongshan District, Yunlong District and Development Zone, connecting Tongshan New District, Xincheng District and East High-speed Railway Station, connecting the center of Tongshan New District, Xincheng Administrative Business Center, and New Town District passenger stations, high-speed rail stations and other large passenger flow distribution points. The line is mainly laid along Xiangjiang Road, Limin Road, Hanfeng Road, Yuntai Road, and ends at the East Square of Xuzhou East Railway Station.

The total length of the first-stage project of Line 6 is about 22.912km, with an average station spacing of 1.496km, a minimum station spacing of 0.809km (Xuzhou No. 1 Middle School Station to Olympic Sports Center North Station), and a maximum station spacing of 3.068km (West Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway Station) To Hubei Station), all are underground lines, with 16 stations. Among them, there are 6 transfer stations, which are respectively interchanged with Line 3 at Tongshan Sub-center Station; interchanged with the planned S2 line at the Xincheng District Passenger Terminal; interchanged with the planned line 2 at the municipal government station; and interchanged with the planned line 5 Transfer to Zijin Road Station; transfer to planned line 7 at West Station of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway; transfer to Line 1 at Xuzhou East Station. This project will build a new Wangzhuang depot and one high-speed railway station parking lot. Newly built Zhaowu line network control center (shared by lines 4, 5, 6, 7, S2, and S3). Newly build 1 Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway west main transformer (shared by Line 6 and 7), and share the main transformer of Tongshan Sub-center (shared by Line 3 and 6).

The Wangzhuang Depot’s land area is 221,100 square meters, of which the area of the depot upper cover is 157,500 square meters, and the area outside the depot cover is 63,600 square meters.

The project is divided into 9 bid sections. CCCC Tunnel Engineering Bureau won the SGTJ6101 standard for 475 million yuan; China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau won the SGTJ6102 standard for 484 million yuan; China Railway 17th Bureau won the SGTJ6103 standard for 431 million yuan; China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau 5.68 100 million yuan won the SGTJ6105 standard; China Railway 11th Bureau 696 million won the SGTJ6106 standard; China Railway 12th Bureau 780 million won the SGTJ6107 standard; China Railway 16th Bureau 316 million won the SGTJ6109 standard; China Railway Sixth Bureau won the SGTJ6110 standard for 529 million yuan; China Railway Fourth Bureau 13.77 RMB 100 million won the SGTJ6112 standard.
