On December 23, 2020, China Communications Construction issued an announcement that CCCC Second Navigation Engineering Bureau and China Communications First Public Bureau won the bids for two bid sections of the main project of the North-South Highway Connection of Changtai Yangtze River Bridge.

The north-south highway connection route of Changtai Yangtze River Bridge starts from Taixing East Hub at the intersection of Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway, passes through the east side of Zhangqiao Town, Taixing City, passes through Hongqiao Industrial Zone, and then connects to Changtai Yangtze River Bridge and crosses the Yangtze River. In the west of Chunjiang Town, Xinbei District, Changzhou City, Nanchang City, after crossing the Desheng River, it ends at the Chunjiang Hub at the intersection of Jiangyi Expressway. The total length of the route is 31.972 kilometers (excluding the joint construction of Changtai Yangtze River Bridge), of which Taixing The section is 22.382 kilometers long and the Changzhou section is 9.59 kilometers long.

This project adopts six-lane expressway standard construction. The design speed of the north-south approach bridge section is 100 km/h, and the bridge width is 33.05 meters (the same as the main bridge); the design speed of the remaining sections is 120 km/h, and the roadbed width is 34.5 meters. The design of bridges and culverts adopts highway-I grade for automobile load level, and the remaining technical indicators are in accordance with the "Highway Engineering Technical Standards" (JTG B01-2014) issued by the Ministry of Transport, and strictly implement the mandatory provisions of the relevant national engineering technical standards.

The bidding project is the CT-TX4 and CT-CZ1 bid sections of the main construction project of the North-South Highway Connection of Changtai Yangtze River Bridge. CCCC Second Navigation Engineering Bureau won the CT-TX4 bid for 1.567 billion yuan, and CCCC First Public Administration won the CT-CZ1 bid for 1.377 billion yuan. Editor/Peng Xue
