Year-end sprint! Success stories of SINOMACH's overseas market development are frequent. Recently, SINOMACH China Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Cambodia and the Cambodian National Electric Power Company formally signed the implementation agreement, lease agreement and power purchase agreement for the BOT investment project of the Shangddai Hydropower Station to realize the cascade development of Cambodia's Dattay River Basin.

According to the agreement, China Heavy Machinery will invest nearly 400 million U.S. dollars to build Cambodia's Shangddai Hydropower Project with an average annual power generation capacity of 530 million kilowatt-hours about 20 kilometers upstream of the Dadai Hydropower Station. After completion, China National Heavy Machinery will invest and operate Cambodia's Shangddai Hydropower Station in a BOT manner within 35 years of the concession period, and collect electricity fees according to the contractual electricity price to obtain electricity sales income.

The planned installed capacity of the project is 150 MW, which belongs to the annual regulating reservoir. It is the upstream cascade power station of the Dadai Hydropower Station invested and operated by China Heavy Machinery.

All enterprises of the SINOMACH have carried out various tasks steadily and have yielded fruitful results, contributing to the group's high-quality development. As an important project in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Shangdadai Hydropower Project will bring huge economic and social benefits to Cambodia. After the completion of the project, on the one hand, it will be able to meet the urgent need for power supply for Cambodia’s rapid economic growth, and provide a stronger energy guarantee for Cambodia’s economic construction and development; Reasonable adjustment of the rapid incoming water can more effectively play the role of flood prevention and disaster reduction such as flood arrest, flood detention, peak cutting and peak shifting.
