The Fuxing trains, which run at 350 kilometers per hour, are affectionately known by many netizens as the most powerful vehicles on earth, with high-speed train drivers driving steel dragons across the vast land of China. Fuxing train has become a synonym for speed in China, but today I want to introduce to you the railway work that must slow down Fuxing train.

How slow can it be? ↓↓ slower than riding a bicycle ↓↓

There are a group of high-speed train drivers at the Wuchang South Locomotive Depot of China Railway Wuhan Bureau Group Co., Ltd. Their Fuxing trains seem to have nothing to do with "flying like lightning" and "flying close to the ground" : they never exceed 40 kilometers per hour, and even hover around the "turtle speed" of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour for many times.

A short distance of five or six kilometers will be "slow" more than half an hour, impatience is afraid to be crazy, but this is the daily ground handling drivers.

Why do you want to drive the Fuxing so slowly? What exactly is a ground driver?

The ground handling team of Wuhan bullet train operation workshop is the professional department responsible for driving Fuxing "slowly" away.

Scientific name: shunting operation, commonly known as: moving car, there are transfer line, operation, car washing, connecting, unweaving, dynamic adjustment and other speed requirements.

After the train arrives at the station, the ground handling driver will check the data together with the final driver in the driver's room, and then start the shunting task.

Although the car drove slowly, but the standard of operation can not be less. Confirm signal + call loudly, push handle! Go you!

It is 3.8 kilometers from Wuhan station to the high-speed train base, and the running time is 12 minutes. The low speed ensures the safety of the train.

It was also a technical job to drive the Fuxing so slowly. Drive steadily! Confirm switches and signals, and raise and lower the pantograph as appropriate. Parking right! Drivers on the main line have special "navigation" assistance, while ground handling drivers rely more on visual distance to stop, with the error within 30 centimeters.

Driving Fuxing "home rest" requires two ground handling drivers to complete the relay. One person is responsible for driving the train from the station to the base, while the other person is responsible for driving the train into the maintenance garage to cooperate with the "bullet train doctor" for maintenance. Then the overhauled train will be placed from the warehouse to the storage line to facilitate passenger operation the next day.

It will complete the 1.8-kilometer warehouse entry operation in 12 minutes, and get ready for the all-around "physical examination" of the Fuxing ship, which is "resting after work". Such as a shower followed by a facial SPA, followed by a full range of treatments to ensure that each train of Fuxing is ready for the new day.

As the curtain of 2021 Spring Festival railway travel rush is about to open, it is the busiest time for ground handling drivers to pick up, send off, check and patrol. From 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., the team will make 120 shunting trips a day, with up to 150 expected at peak times. Although each is driving master, more than a dozen kinds of EMU models are familiar with the back of their hands, but every time they are absorbed in the operation, do not dare to have the slightest carelessness, parking well trained.

The wide storage yard in the high-speed train base is called the "aircraft carrier deck on land" by netizens. On these long and thin "runways", ground drivers drive trains back and forth every day to guarantee the safe travel of thousands of passengers. Editor/April
