Recently, the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission officially approved the construction of the second phase of the west extension project of Changsha Rail Transit Line 2.
Changsha Rail Transit Line 2 West Extension Phase II Project
The second phase of the west extension of Changsha Rail Transit Line 2 starts at Changsha West Station, and leads south along Huizhi Road to the core area of Meixi Lake, then along the central axis of Meixi Lake to the east, and ends at the first phase of west extension of Line 2 The starting point of the project is Meixi Lake West Station (not included). The line is 13.99 kilometers long, of which the underground line is 13.78 kilometers long and the surface line is 0.21 kilometers long. There are 11 stations, all of which are underground stations, including 3 transfer stations. The engineering vehicles adopt B-type vehicles with a maximum operating speed of 80 km/h, and 6 vehicles are used in the initial, short-term and long-term formation. The estimated total investment is 12.342 billion yuan and the construction period is 52 months.
In the future, with the construction of the second phase of the west extension project of Changsha Metro Line 2, it will further promote the construction of a new type of people-centric urbanization and modern metropolitan area, and further turn Changsha West Railway Station into an important comprehensive transportation hub in Hunan Province.
