Recently, Shanghai Rail Transit Line 15 has successfully passed the initial pre-operation safety assessment and has the initial operational conditions for fully automatic operation to ensure the trial operation before the Spring Festival (Lunar New Year) to serve the general public.

Line 15 is Shanghai's fourth rail transit fully automated unmanned driving line, and it is also the first metro line with the highest level of fully automated unmanned driving system on the entire line with full functions at one time. The Metro Line 15 project starts from Zizhu High-tech Zone Station in Minhang District and ends at Gucun Park Station in Baoshan District, passing through 5 administrative districts including Minhang District, Xuhui District, Changning District, Putuo District and Baoshan District. The line has a total length of more than 42 kilometers and has 30 underground stations, of which 8 stations form interchanges with 9 existing and under construction lines in the road network.

Line 15 sets the record in the history of subway construction

  • The longest one-time open line: the longest underground line (42.28 kilometers) in the history of domestic rail transit construction.

  • The highest level of opening: Shanghai and even China have opened the longest mileage and highest level (UTO) fully automatic operation line at one time.

  • The shortest signal debugging time: the first train was commissioned on June 10, 2020, and the signal debugging was completed on October 4. Facing the 42.28km long line, after 3 months and 25 days, 24 hours a day commissioning was successfully completed The signal debugging task takes the shortest time.

  • The number of crossings is the most: The project section of Line 15 successfully traverses 57 buildings of various types, and traverses existing subways 16 times; traverses major pipelines such as rainwater pipes with a diameter of 2460mm and raw water pipes with a diameter of 2000mm; 8 times; traverses Beiheng Passage and viaduct 14 times and other major municipal facilities; 8 times through high-speed rail and railway. 23 rivers are crossed.

  • The most controlled risk points: There are a total of 258 points of various types on Line 15, accounting for 63% of the total number of major construction risks in rail transit construction during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period. Among them, there are 9 ultra-deep stations, all of which are three-story underground stations (accounting for One-third of the total), 70 shield machines were put into use across the line, and 140 shield machines entered and exited the tunnel.

  • Pipeline relocation and traffic guidance and modification are the most frequent: Line 15 involves complicated pipelines in the early stage and harsh traffic organization and environmental conditions. 13 stations involve ultra-high voltages of 110kV and above, DN2000 (diameter 2 meters), Sheung Shui, DN1000 (diameter 1 meter) Gas relocation; 168 traffic turnovers.

Line 15 connects 9 universities with 10 campuses, which is a veritable university-to-university route (Shanghai Jiao Tong University Minhang Campus, East China Normal University Minhang Campus, East China University of Science and Technology Xuhui Campus, Shanghai Normal University Xuhui Campus, Shanghai University of Applied Sciences Xuhui Campus, Gubei Campus of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Xianxia Road Campus of Shanghai University of Engineering Science, North Central Campus of East China Normal University, Huxi Campus of Tongji University, Baoshan Campus of Shanghai University), 4 parks, 3 national science and technology parks; It is connected to important areas such as Zhenru Sub-center, Changfeng Business District, South Railway Station, Caohejing Science and Technology Park, and Zizhu High-tech Zone.
