Fuzhou Metro combines the characteristics of Fuzhou Metro to build a multi-dimensional and convenient platform. It was learned from Fuzhou Metro Group on January 28, 2021 that the feasibility study report of the first phase of the east extension line of Metro Line 2 and the feasibility study report of the east transfer section of Metro Line 6 was successfully held. The Metro Group will step up efforts to improve the implementation of the opinions and suggestions put forward by the relevant units and the evaluation team, further consolidate the design plans of the two lines, and make full preparations for the start of construction by the end of 2021.
According to the plan, the first phase of the east extension of Line 2 runs east-west, starting from Gushan Station in the west and ending at Qingzhou Station in the east. The line is 14.6 kilometers long and has 9 stations along the east-west urban development axis of Mawei, passing through Kuiqi and Kuai'an. It mainly connects the cultural, educational and scientific research zone, industrial zone, shipping and cultural center, and large-scale residential area of Mawei District. The construction of the project will further strengthen the connection between Mawei and the main urban area of Fuzhou, which will greatly alleviate the passenger flow pressure between the main urban area of Fuzhou and Mawei, and will also provide strong support for the recent planning key development areas of Mawei Free Trade Zone and Kuai’an New Town.
The east transfer section of Line 6 starts at Wanshou Station, the preliminary terminal of Binhai New City, Changle District, and ends at Binhai New City International School Station. The line is 5.34 kilometers long and has 5 stations. The line runs along Qing Road-Zhangjiang Road-International School Station. Line 6 is a radial and express line connecting Eastern New City, Changle Group and Binhai New City in the urban "grid radial" rail transit network.
The role played by urban rail transit in the development of low-carbon transportation is precisely in line with the trend of the times. The east transfer section passes through the southern core area of Binhai New City, and has the role of guiding development along the line, which is helpful to the development and construction of Binhai New City, and is conducive to improving the network efficiency of urban rail transit.
