On February 1, 2021, according to China Railway Design Group, starting on December 10, 2020, the preliminary test campaign for the Wenshan-Mengzi Railway officially started.
New Wenshan-Mengzi Railway Project
The new Wenshan-Mengzi Railway project is located in the southeastern part of Yunnan Province, across Wenshan and Honghe. The new line length is 120km, the design speed is 160km/h and 200km/h is reserved. There are 42 new double-track tunnels with a total length of 64.85km.
The route runs along the southern edge of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. The east and west ends are the Wenshan structural dissolution fault basin and the Mengzi structural eroded lacustrine plain. The middle part is the Zhongshan mountain plateau landform with complex and varied karst landscapes. The whole line has the characteristics of large topographical height difference, developed geological structure, wide distribution of soluble rocks, rich karst forms, and development of underground rivers. The overall team has repeatedly surveyed and optimized plans for more than 20 days. As of process guidance, full-line and partial comparison plans have been opened. More than one.
Topographic map along the line
The Wenshan-Mengzi Railway project is an important part of the "National Medium- and Long-Term Railway Network" from Mangshi to Fangchenggang's southwestern border railway and the east-exit railway passage in the border areas of Yunnan Province. The project connects Wenshan Prefecture and Honghe Prefecture where the capitals are located. It is a convenient transportation channel between central and southeastern Yunnan city groups, and the east exit channel between western and southwestern Yunnan. After the completion and opening to traffic, the road network structure of the border areas will be greatly optimized, and the surrounding economy will be deepened. Editor/He Yuting
