Recently, the Henan Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued a notice on the issuance of the list of key construction projects in Henan Province in 2021. In 2021, the list of key construction projects in Henan Province includes 1371 projects with a total investment of 4.4 trillion yuan. Among them, it plans to complete an investment of 1.1 trillion yuan in 2021, and the number of projects, total investment, and annual planned investment all hit a record high. Among the 142 major infrastructure projects, the Fuyang-Huanggang section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Taiwan high-speed railway was listed as a project to start construction in 2021.

Beijing-Hong Kong-Taiwan High-speed Railway Fuyang-Huanggang Section Project

The newly-built line from Fuyang to Huanggang section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Taiwan high-speed rail is about 324 kilometers long, of which the line in Henan Province is 132 kilometers long (both in Xinyang City), with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is planned to set up stations in Fuyang West, Funan East, Gushi West, Huangchuan East, Guangshan South, Xinxian East, Macheng North, Xinzhou East, and Huanggang.

It is understood that the Fuyang-Huanggang section is a high-speed railway connecting Fuyang City in Anhui Province, Xinyang City in Henan Province, and Huanggang City in Hubei Province. It is also a plan for the Beijing-Hong Kong (Taiwan) channel on the west line of Anhui, Henan and Hubei. In the future, the construction of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Taiwan high-speed railway will become an important new channel for the eastern counties of Xinyang to effectively connect from the south to the north.
