On March 2, 2021, the Suizhou Public Resources Trading Center announced the winning bid for the Suizhou-Xinyang Expressway. The Second Highway Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. won the bid for the SXTJ-2 and SXTJ-3 sections. The total investment is estimated to be about 5.988 billion yuan. The construction period is 36 months.

The construction site of the project is in Suizhou City, Hubei Province. The planning plan of the project starts near Luojiawan of Mayan Expressway, connects with Mayan Expressway, passes northward through Guanmiao Town, Caihe Town, and Pingjingguan, the provincial boundary. The mileage is about 47.185km, the design speed is 100km/h, and there are 16830m/35 bridges, including Laohutan Bridge (40m span) and Pingjingguan Bridge (40m span), 1230m/1 long tunnel, hub There is 1 intercommunication, 4 on-land intercommunication, 1 service area, 1 maintenance work area, and 1 monitoring and management sub-center.

Suizhou and Xinyang belong to the old revolutionary base areas of the Dabie Mountains. After the completion of the project, the tertiary industry will prosper rapidly, bring a "golden opportunity" for tourism development, further enhance the traffic connection in the old area, and help the revitalization and development of the old area.
