According to analysis agency Kitco, the top 10 global gold mining companies in 2020 are listed. The Mulentao gold mine in Uzbekistan ranked first for two consecutive years.

In 2020, nearly 2 million ounces of gold (56.7 tons) were mined at the mine. In addition to over 15 million ounces, it may continue to be the world's largest gold mine in the future.

Three super mines

The Muluntau gold deposit was discovered in 1958 by Soviet geophysicists. Mining began in 1969.

Among them, the karlin gold mine in the United States ranked second, which produced 1.6 million ounces (45.4 tons) of gold in 2020.

Russia's Olympic gold mine ranks third. The output was 1.2 million ounces (34 tons), a 14% decrease from 2019.

Gold is Uzbekistan's main export commodity, and its share in 2020 accounted for 44% of Uzbekistan's exports (35% in 2019). Editor/He Yuting
