The Changsha-Ganxi high-speed railway is planned to start at Changsha West High-speed Railway Station and end at Ganzhou North. The Liuyang, Pingxiang, Ji'an, and Jinggang Mountains passing by are all located in the border area of Hunan and Jiangxi. The regional cooperation demonstration zone on the border of Hunan and Jiangxi was included in the Hunan Provincial Party Committee Economic Work Conference at the end of 2020 for the first time.

The Changsha-Ganzhou Railway, with a design speed of 350km/h, is an important part of the China-Chongqing-Chongqing-Changsha Passage, the main national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway. After the line exits from Huanghua Airport Station, it passes eastward through Yong'an, Dongyang, Jiaoxi, and Jili. 9 townships and streets, including Guankou, Gaoping, Hehua, Chengtan River, Dayao, etc., enter Shangli, Jiangxi via the boundary of Hunan and Jiangxi provinces.

The line crosses Wushen Expressway, 319 National Road, and the tunnel crosses the Changliu Expressway, Jinyang Avenue, and the Wushan Scenic Area under the crossing road. After exiting the station, it bypasses the first-level water source protection area and crosses the Liuyang River and Dayao mine crushing area, etc. . The total length of the Liuyang section is 62.14 kilometers, and the total project estimate is about 10.8 billion yuan.

Liuyang Railway Station

Liuyang Station is located at 275m on the north side of the Northwest Loop Line. It is an elevated station with a line-side down-type station building with an area of 15,000 square meters. The station is arranged according to the scale of 2 6-line prefecture-level stations, with 4 departure lines and 2 main lines, with an effective length of 650 meters; 2 island platforms (450mx12mx1.25m).

According to the relevant person in charge of the general contracting project manager department of the third phase of Liuyang Jinyang Avenue of China Communications Third Highway Engineering Co., Ltd., under the premise of ensuring quality and safety, a 24-hour cycle operation will be implemented. A total of 12 meters is expected to be excavated every day. Later, as the level of surrounding rock increases, the tunneling speed will be further increased. It is expected that the tunnel will be completed and opened to traffic in October 2022.

In order to further strengthen the support and driving effect of the interconnection of transportation infrastructure on the rural revitalization and cooperation in the borders of Hunan and Jiangxi, Liuyang and Shangli formally signed the "S326 and Changli Expressway Link Construction Plan" in 2021. The two sides will strengthen mutual cooperation and coordinate transportation planning. Work with construction to open up the dead ends and congested roads between the two places.

According to the construction schedule, the two parties will accelerate the construction of the S326 and Changli high-speed connection line. After the project is completed, it can connect Hunan Provincial Highway S326 Dawen Highway and Shangli County S224 Tonghu Highway, and open the Liuyang-Changli Expressway Tongmu Interchange Expressway.
