According to news from India's Tata Power Solar, the company has won a contract to develop a 70MW/105MWp photovoltaic floating power station in Kerala, India. The project will be built on a reservoir used by the Indian National Thermal Power Company Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power Plant for a period of 21 months. The contract is valued at $48.7 million, which also includes three years of operation and maintenance services.

Founded in 1989, Tata Power Solar was originally a joint venture between Tata Power and BP. It is currently operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of India's Tata Power and is India's largest PV EPC service provider. In addition, as one of the largest PV manufacturers in India, Tata Power Solar also has 400MW components and 300MW photovoltaic cell capacity.
