On March 15, 2021, the Liaoning Provincial Tendering and Bidding Supervision Center issued a bidding announcement for the east extension line of Shenyang Metro Line 1. The bidder was Shenyang Metro Group Co., Ltd., with a total project investment of 10.148 billion yuan.

The fifth contract section: 1) Dongling Park Station to Dongling Park Station (open-cut method) 2) Dongling Park Station (open-cut method) 3) Dongling Park Station to Zhongshuijie Station (shield method + Open-cut method) 4) Zhongshuijie Station (open-cut method).

The sixth contract section: 1) Zhongshuijie Station~Boguan Avenue Station (shield method + open-cut method) 2) Underground section of the entrance and exit line (shield method + open-cut method) 3) Entry and exit Elevated section of the line (using cast-in-place method + jacking) 4) Boguan Street Station (using open-cut method). The planned construction period is from May 10, 2021 to December 31, 2024.
