At 11:18 on March 16, with the last section of steel-concrete beam hoisted in place, the Hubei Chibi Yangtze River Highway Bridge, invested and constructed by Hubei Communications Investment Group, designed by China Railway Bridge Institute, and constructed by China Railway Bridge Bureau, was successfully closed. The Chibi Yangtze River Highway Bridge starts at Shuifu Village, Wulin Town, Honghu City, Hubei Province, and ends at Puan Village, Chibi Town, Chibi City. The main bridge is 1,380m in length. The entire line adopts two-way six-lane expressway standards, and the design speed is 100 kilometers per hour. The main tower of the bridge adopts "H" shape design, the north tower is 217.33 meters high, and the south tower is 223 meters high.
According to reports, in the next step, the project department will speed up cross-construction operations, complete housing construction, pavement, traffic safety, electrical and mechanical engineering, and strive to complete the entire line before July 1.
After the completion of the bridge, it will only take 5 minutes to cross the river from Chibi to Honghu. It will become an important node for the Wuhan City Circle Expressway and the Suiyue, Shanghai-Chongqing, Hanhongjian, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao, Hangrui and other highways. The seamless connection between local transportation and the national transportation network has played an important role in promoting the "densification, interconnection, and quality improvement" of the province's expressway network.
