Bazhong is an important node city in Sichuan Province from north to Sichuan. On March 23, 2021, Sichuan Railway Investment Group and the Bazhong Municipal Government signed the "Pakistan Middle East Station TOD Project Investment Cooperation Agreement", which marked that Bazhong will build the first batch of high-speed rail TOD projects in Sichuan Province.

The Hanbanan Railway is a major channel connecting the Chengdu Plain Economic Zone and the Northeast Sichuan Economic Zone. The signing of the agreement indicates that the high-speed rail TOD project is about to be implemented in Pakistan, and the old revolutionary zone has taken another historic step forward. This will soon become a new landmark for urban construction in Pakistan and a new engine for the economic growth of Sichuan Railway Investment Group.

The Bazhong East Station of Hanbanan Railway is located in the south of Qinba Avenue in the Economic Development Zone of Bazhong City, and north of the planned No. 1 Road. It is planned to be the intersection of 36th Road and Zhiwu Road. It was originally a freight station function, and the freight station will be relocated in the future. In the Zengkou area, Pakistan's Middle East Station has been converted into a passenger transport function, and it is the passenger railway transportation hub station with the largest throughput in Bazhong City.

The TOD project of Pakistan Middle East Railway Station will be centered on the site and integrated design within a radius of 3-5 kilometers to meet the net development land scale of 1,500 acres and a construction area of about 2 million square meters. The total construction period is 8-10 years. It will be built into a comprehensive development project that integrates station and city and highly integrates industry and city.

It is reported that the project company is planned to be established before April 30, 2021, with Sichuan Railway Investment Group holding 60% of the shares and local holdings 40% (of which Bazhong Trading Group holds 30%, and Bazhong Economic Development Zone Qinba New Town Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. owns 10%). The project plans to start the construction of the first phase of the project before December 31, 2021.

The comprehensive development of TOD roadside industries is a new mission given to Sichuan Railway Investment by the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government. Sichuan Railway Investment Group stated that it will rely on the railway and highway hubs and stations to be built to strengthen the development concept of “integration of station and city production”, and build a station-city relationship that “provides the city with stations and uses stations for the city”. The relationship between the industry and the industry is “strengthen, the interaction between stations and industries”, and the relationship between industry and city of “prosperity by industry and integration of industry and city”. The comprehensive development proceeds of TOD roadside industries are used to feed back transportation investment to ensure the high-quality development of the transportation industry.

The recently constructed station buildings mainly serve the Hambanan Railway and the Bada Railway, and the station buildings will be expanded simultaneously when new lines are connected to the Pakistan Middle East station in the future. The total scale of Pakistan's Middle East station depot is 3 sets of 7 lines (including 2 main lines), and 3 lines of arrival and departure lines (excluding main lines) have been constructed recently, with 1 passenger basic platform and 1 intermediate platform each. At present, it has been preliminarily determined that the form of the station building in the Middle East station in Pakistan will be on the line.
