On March 25, 2021, Serbian President Vucic said when inspecting the construction of the Hungary-Serbia railway project that the Hungary-Serbia railway undertaken by China Railway is a successful example of multinational cooperation projects, which will become one of Serbia’s important business cards for going global.

Vucic said that the Hungary-Serbia Railway is a successful cooperation between Serbia, China and Hungary under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. Less than a year later, Serbian citizens can take a fast train to and from Belgrade and the northern city of Novi Sad.
