After listening to the project introduction and the report on the progress of contract performance, Sosa and his party watched the construction pictures of each stage of the project, and inspected the passenger terminal building, the breakwater terminal and other construction parts on the spot. Sosa said that the Cabinda Port Project is a key project in Cabinda Province, Angola. The current construction results are very satisfactory, thanks to the highly responsible professionalism and professional construction level of Gezhouba Group. The Angolan government will continue to vigorously support the construction of the project and promote the early completion of the project.
This is the second time Souza has come to Cabinda port project. In 2017, Sosa accompanied the Angolan President Joao Lourenço to inspect the port. At that time, President Lorenzo personally pressed the command button and laid the first steel sheet pile for the breakwater terminal, marking the start of construction of the offshore part of the breakwater terminal project.
The Cabinda Port project is an important part of Cabinda's ocean transportation, including the construction of the ocean passenger terminal and the construction of the breakwater terminal.
The passenger station construction project includes three-story passenger service building, ferry area platform, parking lot, access roads and roundabouts, water supply, power supply, fire fighting, monitoring system, rain and sewage facilities and other supporting projects. At present, the passenger terminal project is 80% completed, the main structure of the passenger terminal building has been completed, the decoration and equipment installation work is in progress, and the road foundation construction has begun for the outdoor project.
The breakwater wharf construction project is to build a breakwater wharf project with a total length of 660m. It consists of two parts: sea roads and berths. After completion, it can dock passenger ships, ro-ro cargo ships and 10,000-ton container ocean-going vessels. At present, 70% of the breakwater project has been completed. The construction of the first phase of the project has been completed, and the second phase of sand reserve and piling construction is underway.
The Cabinda Port Project is expected to be completed in June 2022. After completion, it will effectively meet the needs of cargo import and export and ocean passenger transportation in Cabinda Province, promote the development of local tourism, provide a large number of jobs, and greatly promote local economic development.
