In 2020, the Shandong Provincial People's Government awarded a total of 273 projects (candidates) to the provincial science and technology awards. Among them, there are 2 provincial science and technology awards, namely Li Huajun of Ocean University of China and Tan Xuguang of Shandong Heavy Industry Group; 39 first, second and third prizes of Provincial Natural Science Award; 15 first, second and third prizes of Provincial Technical Invention Award ; 215 first, second and third prizes of the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award; 2 Shandong Provincial International Science and Technology Cooperation Award. Among them, the first, second, and third prizes of the Provincial Natural Science Award, the Provincial Technical Invention Award, and the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award were 31, 117, and 121 respectively.

He has been engaged in the research and industrialization of key technologies of diesel engines and power systems for a long time. Proposed an integrated program for the power system of heavy commercial vehicles, presided over the solution of international problems in the simultaneous improvement of power, economy and reliability, supported my country’s heavy commercial vehicles to form a global competitive advantage; presided over the development of my country’s first heavy-duty highway with completely independent intellectual property rights Diesel engine, presided over the basic forward-looking technological innovation of diesel engines, took the lead in overcoming the 50% international problem of body thermal efficiency, so that my country’s diesel engine high-efficiency and low-carbon technology reached the international leading level; presided over the creation of an advanced power system R&D and manufacturing engineering system, which solved my country’s construction machinery, agricultural equipment, and new Key constraints for the development of power systems in many fields such as energy. Leading the company from a local state-owned enterprise with annual revenue of less than 600 million yuan and on the verge of bankruptcy to a mixed-ownership multinational group with annual revenue of 503.4 billion yuan and net assets of 121.3 billion yuan has made important contributions to the high-quality development of my country's equipment manufacturing industry.

Won the National Model Worker (2005, 2020), the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of New China, "The Most Beautiful Struggle", Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award, National Innovation Award, Qilu Outstanding Talent Award, Qilu Era Model and other honors, and enjoy special government allowances from the State Council.
