Recently, Fijian Prime Minister Mbeinimarama and his entourage inspected Fiji’s largest livelihood project undertaken by Hydropower Tenth Bureau-Ruiwa River Water Supply Project. Relevant officials of the Fiji government, representatives of the owner and representatives of the Chinese contractor participated in the inspection.

Prime Minister Mbeinimarama and his entourage came to the conference room of the main camp of the project department and listened to the significance of the project construction to Fiji’s economic development and improvement of people’s livelihood, project planning and design, current construction progress and other reports, as well as the current impact of the epidemic Difficulties and challenges faced by the project. Prime Minister Mbeinimarama asked about the project’s employment situation with concern. Combined with the current epidemic situation, he required the project department to strictly implement curfews and lockdowns and other epidemic prevention policies, and adhere to safe and civilized construction while doing epidemic prevention work to ensure the safety of the project. Progress and quality go hand in hand, working together for the bright future of Fiji. Afterwards, Prime Minister Mbeinimarama and his entourage visited the water treatment plant and reservoir under construction, and personally operated the measuring instruments used in the construction of the project, and inquired about the quality control system of the project in detail. He required the project to strictly control the quality, accurately grasp the work process of each construction link, and fully recognized the working attitude of Sinohydro strictly in accordance with the contract and being a responsible international contractor.

The Fiji Ruiwa River Water Supply Project is the only project under construction under Sinohydro Fiji Branch, and it is also the livelihood project under construction in Fiji with the largest investment. After the completion of the project, the water supply pressure in the capital Suvarna Sori area will be eased to a large extent, and the quality of life of residents will be improved. For a long time, the Fiji Ruiwa River Water Supply Project of the Tenth Bureau of Hydropower has strictly complied with local laws and regulations during the construction process, and effectively implemented epidemic prevention and control, safe and civilized construction, and environmental protection. It has been highly recognized by the Fiji Ministry of Water Resources and Environmental Protection. It has won the honor of a gold card member company and has established a good image for Chinese companies.
