The content of the project involves the construction of a comprehensive integrated port area and maritime engineering, including a 2,678-meter breakwater, a storage yard, a comprehensive office area and 5 berths; of which 2 are multi-purpose berths with an annual handling capacity of 6 million tons of bulk cargo. 160,000 cars; 2 container berths with a coastline of 860 meters, designed for reliable berth of 18,000 TEU ship types, with an annual design throughput of 1.5 million TEUs; in addition, it also includes a work boat berth.

This project is the largest port project that a Chinese-funded enterprise has won bids in Latin America, and it is also the largest single-unit contract project undertaken by a Chinese-funded enterprise in Peru.
