On May 10, 2021, the feasibility study report of the second phase of Shenzhen Metro Line 16 was officially approved by the Shenzhen Municipal Development and Reform Commission. Line 16 Phase II
The second phase of the line 16 line starts from the line 16 project under construction. After the Dayun Station, the temporary turn-back line ends and ends at Xikeng Station. The line length is about 9.43 kilometers. There are 8 stations (including 2 transfer stations). New Xikeng parking lot.
The vehicles of the second phase project of Line 16 adopt A-type vehicles, 1500V DC overhead catenary power supply, and a maximum operating speed of 80 kilometers per hour. It adopts fully automatic operation driving technology. The initial, short-term and long-term use of 6-vehicle formations are added. There are 12 vehicles/72 vehicles.
The design capacity of the system is based on the design of 30 pairs per hour. The whole line will start a single crossing at the beginning, and 14 pairs of trains will be operated during peak hours. The short and long-term use of large and small crossings, the large crossing is from Xikeng to Tianxin, and the small crossing is Changjiangpu To Jiangling, there are 16:8 pairs and 18:9 pairs of trains respectively during peak hours. The project will be implemented simultaneously, including Anliang Station (part of Line 18).
The second phase of Line 16 is the main rail line that serves Longgang and Pingshan in the east, and the internal transportation corridor of the group.
