The project has a construction scale of 100 MW/400 MWh. It was approved as the National Renewable Energy Demonstration Zone Demonstration Project in 2018, and was supported by the National Renewable Energy Demonstration Zone Industrial Innovation and Development Special Project and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Class A Pilot Special Project. After the project is completed, it will become the world's first 100 MW new compressed air energy storage system.
