The steel structure project of Tianshui Maiji Mountain Scenic Area Visitor Service Center undertaken by China Railway 21st Bureau No. 2 Company won the 14th second batch of "China Steel Structural Gold Award".
Tianshui Maiji Mountain Scenic Area Tourist Service Center project, as a key cultural tourism construction project in Gansu Province, is hailed as the "Gansu Bird's Nest" by industry experts. After completion, it will be of great significance to local tourism development and Tianshui City's economic benefits. The first phase of the project has a total construction area of 146,000 square meters, of which the steel structure construction area is 16,000 square meters. It is a spatial ring steel frame system. The high-altitude assembly welding has high accuracy and up to 12,000 welding times. The steel consumption is about 8,600 Tons, the multi-slope arc-shaped water-proof and thermal-insulation metal roof technology adopted is the first in China.
During the construction process, how to divide the main structure into sections economically, rationally, and in accordance with the design force requirements, has become a problem that plagues the construction team. The project team made full use of BIM technology to realize the co-construction of all related units of the project, all-professional coordination, and the whole process simulation, and clearly presented the problems that need to be paid attention to during the construction process to ensure that the project's entire chain and full cycle informationization management. They also used new technologies such as steel structure building deepening models, project dynamic management information, and dissimilar steel welding applications to provide technical support for the high-quality construction of the project.
The China Steel Structure Gold Award is one of the few national high-quality engineering awards in the construction field approved by the State Council, and it is also the highest quality management award in the steel structure field. In addition, the project also won the National Construction Engineering Project Safety Production Standard Chemical Site, the National Quality Trustworthy Team, and the 2020 Project Construction Quality Management Team Activity Achievement Competition Category II achievement.
