The Taaleri SolarWind II fund and co-investors have obtained full ownership of two wind farms to be built in Finland. The total capacity of the Isoneva and Murtotuuli wind farms is 252MW. The Isoneva wind farm is located in Siikajoki, and the Murtotuuli wind farm is located in Posio.
Both wind farms are expected to go online in the fourth quarter of next year. The construction of these two facilities began in April. The two wind farms are equipped with 42 Vestas turbines, which can generate 675 GWh of clean energy per year, enough to power 74,500 homes. They are expected to replace 205,000 tons of carbon emissions each year.
Taaleri Energia and Intercon Energy developed the Isoneva wind farm, while the Murtotuuli wind farm was developed internally by the Taaleri Group. ING and SEB will arrange project financing for these investments, and Infra Builders is the balance of the wind farm's power plant contractor. During the construction phase, Taaleri Energia Operations will provide engineering, procurement and construction management services for these two projects. Once it enters the operational stage, technical and business management services will be provided.
Taaleri Energia's technical team will also provide data monitoring and analysis of wind farm production. Vestas will provide maintenance services for the turbines under a 35-year contract. According to the 15-year power purchase agreement, most of the clean energy generated by the two wind farms will be supplied to the Finnish energy company Suomen Voima.
Kai Rintala, Managing Director of Taaleri Energia, said: "These two Finnish wind energy investments are an excellent addition to the Nordic portfolio of Taaleri SolarWind II Fund. They are fully commercialized, without subsidies, utilize the latest wind turbine technology, and showcase our internal projects. The value of development, construction, technology and business management capabilities."
In January, Taaleri SolarWind II Fund and UAE renewable energy developer Masdar jointly acquired 50/50 equity in two wind farms in Poland.
The two wind power facilities, the 37.4MW Mlawa wind farm in Mazowieckie and the 14MW Grajewo wind farm in Podlaskie, will go online at the end of this year.Editor/Baohongying
