Recently, the China-Europe Express train departing from Milan, Italy arrived in Zhengzhou for the first time. So far, Zhengzhou, which is one of the five major assembly centers of China-Europe Railway Express, has opened the China-Europe Railway Express 8 years ago, and the number of stations connecting Europe has increased to 10.

Chen Guohui, Secretary of the Party General Branch of Putian Station of China Railway Zhengzhou Bureau: In the next step, the China-Europe trains departing and arriving in Zhengzhou will continue to open up new lines, increase the frequency and quality of operation, and gradually turn the logistics channel into a high-speed economic and trade channel.

In the first half of 2021, a total of 7,377 China-Europe freight trains will be operated, transporting 707,000 TEUs of goods, a year-on-year increase of 43% and 52% respectively. So far, the cumulative number of China-Europe Express trains has exceeded 41,000, reaching 168 cities in 23 European countries.

Zhang Xiaodong, Director of the Department of Logistics Engineering, School of Transportation, Beijing Jiaotong University: As the epidemic continues, shipping backlogs and air transport are blocked, China-Europe Express has bucked the trend and has gone from the original new choice of China-Europe trade channel to a "stabilizer for unimpeded trade." ".

The quantity increases and the quality improves. The types of transportation goods have expanded from a single laptop computer to more than 50,000 vehicles, e-commerce parcels, and medical equipment. The annual freight value of freight trains increased from 8 billion U.S. dollars in 2016 to nearly 56 billion U.S. dollars in 2020, an increase of nearly 7 times.

Today, China-Europe Express has formed five major assembly centers in Xi'an, Chengdu, Chongqing, Zhengzhou, and Urumqi, and three major corridors in the east, middle and west from Suifenhe to Alashankou. In the first half of 2021, Alashankou implemented the "digital port" system, realizing the interconnection of information between railways and customs departments, and the time for China-Europe class border customs clearance was reduced to less than 5 hours.
