China was the first country to invent gunpowder, and gunpowder was one of the symbols of China's four ancient civilizations. From the Warring States to the early Han Dynasty, the emperors and nobles were immersed in the illusion of immortality, driving some alchemists and Taoist priests to refine "Xian Dan." During the ancient alchemy pharmacy, it was gradually discovered that the mixture of sulphur, flame and charcoal had the ability to burn and explode. Because it was made by mixing three kinds of materials: saltpeter, sulfur and charcoal. At that time, people used these three things as medicines for treating diseases, so they named "gunpowder", which means "medication on fire." The horseman of the Three Kingdoms period, Ma Wei, used the method of paper-packing gunpowder to make a "explosive" for entertainment, and pioneered the application of gunpowder.

In the Sui Dynasty, gunpowder, sulfur and charcoal ternary system gunpowder were born. Black gunpowder officially appeared in the Tang Dynasty (late 9th century). In the first year of Tang Gaozong's Yongzheng (682), the alchemy home first created the sulfur fire method, using sulfur, saltpeter, grinding powder, and adding soap (including carbon). Tang Xianzong Yuan and three years (808 years) invented the shape of the fire law, using saltpeter, sulfur and aristolochia (including carbon) to burn together. These two formulas are all mixed with three kinds of medicines, and have already initially possessed the ingredients contained in the gunpowder.

At the end of the Tang Dynasty, gunpowder began to be applied to the military. People use the stone slinger that throws stones, put the gunpowder around, throw it out and burn the enemy. This is the most primitive artillery. Later, people wrapped the spherical gunpowder around the head of the arrow, and lit the lead to shoot the gunpowder with a bow and arrow to burn the enemy. There are also gunpowder, poison, plus some bitumen, tung oil, etc., together to make a poison ball, after the point, shoot with a bow and arrow, killing the enemy is the later "mass enemy."

In the Song Dynasty, following the tradition of the Tang Dynasty, gunpowder also appeared in the war. People put gunpowder in the bamboo tube. The tiny "orientation rod" was placed behind the gunpowder to ignite the fire on the fire tube, causing the gunpowder to burn rapidly. Producing forward thrust and making it fly to the enemy's array, this is the world's first gunpowder rocket. Later, invented the musket and gun, these are the original tubular firearms made of bamboo tubes, the ancestors of modern guns.

The Song Dynasty people were far more than the Tang Dynasty, and the gunpowder was not only used in the military. The acrobatic performances of the martial arts of the Song Dynasty and the fireworks and acrobatics in the puppet show. In the Song Dynasty, acrobatic programs such as "Holding", "Hard Ghost", and "Dumb Art" were used to create a mysterious atmosphere using the newly launched gunpowder products "explosive" and "spitfire". The Song people also used the gunpowder to perform illusions, such as squirting fireworks and clouds to smash and change things, to capture the magical effect. Editor / Zhao Jing
